First of all, I am so grateful that I found the Profit First model and Shannon Simmons, who has led and supported me for the past two years.
I came across the Profit First model two years ago at a point when my business finances were messy. I had plenty of money coming in, but my finances were disorganized, and I still seemed to be living month to month. As hard as I tried, I couldn’t seem to get control of my business finances.
I read the Profit First book and it made so much sense to me! The model seemed simple, organized and do-able. I reached out to Shannon to help me make sense of my current situation, establish clear goals, help me get started, and hold me accountable.
We checked in on a monthly basis and made shifts to my plan as necessary. Two years later, I am proud to say that I am on it! My business finances are organized, clean, I’m profitable (yeah!), disciplined, in control and motivated.
As you can imagine, not only were my businesses finances messy, but so were our personal finances. My husband and I were so inspired by what the Profit First model did for my business that we started implementing it with our personal finances as well. I am also proud to say that we are a year and a half into implementing this model and it works! We will be debt free by the end of 2016, we have taught our 11 and 9 year old daughters how to use the model (and they help us!!), and most importantly, we have a system and a structure that we hold ourselves accountable to. We now feel confident about how we are spending and saving our money!Carrie Cunnington
